If you're looking for ...

If you're looking for a unique hotel with some history, look no further than Haywood Park Hotel. The once former Bon Marche Department store from the 1920s offers 21st Century comfort. The remodeled hotel blends past and the present beautifully to create a one of a kind experience. As you enter the lobby, you are greeted to a grand room with tall ceilings. A 2nd floor balcony area can be seen wrapping around the cavernous space from the left side and all the way to the back, just above the elevators. Follow the steps down to a sunken living room area of the lobby. Respite in the comfortable chairs. To the right is the entrance to Isa's Bistro and adjacent to a women's clothing boutique. On the opposite, you'll find the Front Desk and offices. The decor is one of the things I loved about the hotel. In the lobby is an old car, possibly a Model T (not sure as I am not an automobile afficianado) and the walls are littered with signs from the defunct department. There are display cases of mannequins donning fashions from gone-by eras. As you walk toward the elevators in the back, the space continues to another atrium that leads to more shops and businesses alike. Once you've checked in with seemingly 1 of the 2 front desk clerks (as observed in my 4 night stay), grab your champagne glass as you toast your way to the elevators and up to your room. As the elevators doors open, a monotone voice is heard announcing what floor you've entered. Another unique touch from the long forgotten department store. Each floor was a different department. The Mens dept. was the 2nd floor and the Womens dept. was the 4th floor. Im not sure what other floor were but you can look at the directory inside each elevator as you wait for the doors to open. As you step out onto your floor, another open space awaits. It is reminiscent of another living room or common area. There are several chairs, a coffee table and plants. Another display case showcases the "department" you have entered. Each floor is designed this way. As you traverse towards your room and open the door, you are transported back into the 21st Century. Modern framed prints/paintings hang on the walls, tiled bathrooms with glass shower enclosures, marble/granite sinks, privacy toilet room, a king sized bed in spacious bedroom, a living room and a kitchen area await (depending on what room you get). And the view of the street was great through the large windows. Definitely ask for a room with the city view, if available. My room had awesome sunrise views. I've ranted too much...go check it out yourself! P.S.- If you're reading this you must really be interested...seriously book this if you're ever in Asheville,NC!

6 September 23- Natalie, Seth and Paula were AMAZING!! Natalie was extremely helpful on the phone and in person, allowing us to check in early, due to us having a dog. She really prioritized our needs, gave us options and gave us the peace of mind we needed during our stay here in Asheville. Paula was also very pleasant during our check-in. She helped us with valet services, due to the construction going on. Her attitude and help with valet/parking was top notch. Her help allowed us to make it to our reservation on time. Seth was professional and a great help. He even took a picture with me, bc I told him how much he looks like my sons 🤣!! When people come in to Asheville from out of town, these 3 are the type of professionals EVERY hotel needs. They all deserve raises!! I ABSOLUTELY plan on staying here again because of them!

I recently stayed at this hotel and loved everything about it. The entire staff was friendly and welcoming. And I couldn't have it any other way but this person named Austin truly went above and beyond. Which made my stay even better. Every question I had, he was happy to help with, without a problem. From helping with DoorDash to assisting with shipping my kids' souvenirs because I was worried TSA might take them during our flight home, he made me not worry. So thank you Austin.
