Location in the center of restaurant and tourist area of Asheville. Very walkable, and easy drive from attentive valets to attractions. Main building themed based on the department store it once was. Very large rooms available. Front desk star staff not always available, but also not really needed due to great location.

If you read all the literature on the walls inside this hotel you will learn quite a bit about its history. The elevator still announces which departments are on the flood when you get off the elevator.

AMAZING EXPERIENCE! Just an absolute joy to stay there. Very clean rooms and amazing service. The location was perfect. Especially for the drum circle on Fridays. I WILL stay there again.
